The images and texts were developed collaboratively by He Fa and AI. The first-person voice belongs to an experiment in character; costume, posture and props are used to develop creative arguments, not as quotations from or summaries of the thought of the figures referenced.

A fine check repeats across the jacket, broad lapels cut two larger directions through it, and only a short section of tie shows. The first question this Camus outfit poses for me comes from the pattern's excessive reliability: keep looking, and the next square always seems to appear. Whether life can continue like that is something no jacket can guarantee.

Checks make parts easy to align, and make any misalignment particularly visible. Turn a sleeve and the lines shift; crease the fabric and the squares deform. If every line must connect, the wearer can only stop moving. Order therefore has a practical limit: it can help action unfold, but should not demand that action occur only within the bounds it has already drawn.

He Fa's face does not turn this limit into heroic tragedy. Broad cheeks, glasses and a sparse beard bring an everyday slowness to a look easily read as austere. I imagine this body facing an unplanned delay, finding somewhere to sit first, then deciding what can still be done. An inability to explain everything that happens does not prevent making arrangements for the next small stretch of time.

Yet accepting chance may also become a convenient excuse. Someone could plainly fix the door, but every lockout is called fate; causes could be investigated, but those affected are asked to learn serenity. Distinguishing what cannot be controlled from what can be changed is work that comes before acceptance. Otherwise, apparent wisdom merely erases responsibility from the picture.

I am willing to let the checks break at the folds, no longer forcing them to connect the lines of an entire life. Where there is a cause, find it; where no answer is available yet, leave a blank. The jacket is still wearable, and there are things left to do today. That is enough to support the next step, without throwing in a conclusion that explains everything.
