The images and texts were developed collaboratively by He Fa and AI. The first-person voice belongs to an experiment in character; costume, posture and props are used to develop creative arguments, not as quotations from or summaries of the thought of the figures referenced.

Colored glasses sit on He Fa's face, a blue sequined long garment is covered in stars, and red, yellow and blue feathers spread behind the shoulders. Two black-and-white keyboard tails trail to either side, while red platform shoes raise the whole person. Elton John's extravagant stage combination is fully developed. I seem to have worn floor and instrument along with everything else, carrying my own opening wherever I go.

Keyboard keys turn from tool into fabric, first making a familiar association easier to recognize, then raising a hidden question: a stage is not made only by the person at its center. Colors, objects and footing jointly arrange visibility. If all effects are finally assigned to one name, the conditions involved trail behind like coat tails, plainly large yet described as incidental decoration.

I do not therefore cancel individual performance. Tools cannot replace playing, nor can beautiful tails make music by themselves. But treating tools as mere background makes ability look entirely unconditional. Judging a performance requires seeing both how a subject uses support and how support changes what the subject can do. Neither side should be swallowed by the other.

He Fa's cool face offers no busy expression for the keys; both hands rest inside the sides of the garment for now, making the exaggeration look more like a system that can be examined. I am willing to keep dragging this portable stage and, when playing is actually required, explain decoration and tools separately. The feathers can remain lively, but the black-and-white keys should not lose their labor relations' claim to serious attention merely because they have become a hem.
