Grey, blue, green and earth-toned textures lie alongside one another in separate blocks. The breaks between bands are immediately visible; closer inspection finds textures that resemble fragments of natural scenes. Reading the whole and identifying its details call for different kinds of attention. The portfolio separates the title from the image: name, dimensions and date appear first, followed by the dense field of texture. The work is recorded as a light box measuring 2400 × 1250 mm, dated March 2012. The full horizontal image is retained here so that differences between blocks and the seams joining them remain visible together. ## Archive note Based on pages 12–13 of the 38-page portfolio 何发-作品小汇.
