The lower ear and rounded earlobe appear at the right beside an enlarged curve of cheek at the left. An almost black background removes surrounding context. Fine hairs and skin highlights gather where the two surfaces meet, while the close framing excludes a full face and emphasizes the transition between ear and cheek.
