Selected works2017 / Documentary video
A work-sample list preserves four recordings with different lengths and viewpoints.
Fa He Work Sample List, preserved with material from the CCA period, lists four recordings titled Fa’s review: 01 runs 23 minutes 35 seconds; 02, 40 seconds; 03, 17 minutes 12 seconds. A fourth is labelled “dong dong perspective” and runs 1 hour and 33 seconds. All four share the completion date 28 April 2017.
The list also names advancement-review information, a statement prepared for the review and a statement for Fa’s review as important material within the video. The surviving document establishes the four recordings and their historical links, but does not reconstruct the full arrangement or sequence of the event. The original title, viewpoint label and durations are retained as the starting points for this project record.
An English statement retained for the advancement review repeatedly asks whether the speaker is an artist. Beginning with art education and artistic identity, He Fa connects artificial intelligence’s capacity to learn tools with human choices made when certainty and expression fail. It provides a contemporaneous textual context for the experiments with language, performance and identity in Fa’s review.
The statement’s claims about artificial intelligence belong to the artist’s thinking at the time. Their place in the work is preserved here without presenting them as technically verified predictions.
Based on the original table in Fa He Work Sample List.docx, which records four videos, their durations and historical links. The information in that list is retained here; a fuller account of the event and its arrangement requires further material.
