An everyday action as an opening

How to Eat a Banana? was announced as a P4X workshop, explicitly naming He Fa as its initiator. The notice offers neither a preliminary theory nor an elaborate plot. Instead, it invites people to “experience together” the question during a scheduled two-hour session. Food, bodies, actions and the people nearby provide an immediately approachable starting point.

This archive reads the title as a way of questioning a familiar action. Knowing how to eat a banana does not give a collective event a predetermined answer. The title brings a usually overlooked act into shared attention and leaves the “how” to the encounter. This describes the possibility established by the invitation. The surviving short notice does not provide a full exercise sequence or a report of the results, so it is preserved here as workshop documentation.

“Let us experience together / how to eat a banana?” The exaggerated declaration and extended exclamation marks that follow make the invitation itself playful. Its modest scale offers a concrete entry into P4’s use of improvisation, limited time and shared participation.
